Toshiko Takaezu is a Hawaiian native. Taught at Princeton University from 1967 to 1992, where she was awarded an honorary doctorate. This bowl was a gift to Sculptor, Olen Bryant where they studied at Cranbrook Academy of Art in Michigan together. Her works are represented in the Smithsonian Museum of Art, the University of Hawaii, the Cleveland Museum of Art and many others.
