Dahn studied painting, printmaking and graphic design, receiving a BFA degree from Miami University and an MFA degree from Yale University. He taught graphic design at the University of Washington from 1965 to 1997. He and his wife, Barbara, also an artist, spend six months in Seattle. The culture and climate of these two environments are a continuous stimulation for his art. He studied and worked with Joseph Albers at Yale.
