Jones enjoyed illustrating in high school which later led him to attend the Art Institute of Atlanta to study graphic design. Jones also attended the American Intercontinental University in Atlanta and earned a degree in visual communications.

Kerream Jones was the awarded artist for his painting, Mixing It Up, for the 29th Chicago Jazz Festival in 2007. He was also offered the opportunity to design the 30th Annual Clearwater Jazz Holiday Poster for 2009.
