Signed, titled and numbered in pencil

Winfred Rembert was an African American artist who used hand-tools and shoe dye on leather canvases.  He was represented by Adelson Galleries in NYC and through them became involved in printing through the Massachusetts College of Art and Design (Mass Arts).  He authored a memoir titled “Chasing Me to My Grave:  An Artist’s Memoir of the Jim Crow South”.
