Toshiko Taskeazu is a Hawaiian native. Taught at Princeton University from 1967 to 1992, where she was awarded an honorary doctorate. She studied at the Cranbrook Academy of Art in Michigan. Her works are represented in the Smithsonian Museum of Art, the University of Hawaii, the Cleveland Museum of Art and many others.
