Born in Washington, D.C., Clark became a Chicago artist during the Works Progress Administration (W.P.A.) period of The Great Depression. Later, Clark painted designs for furniture for Marshall Fields Company. She was close to William McBride and the 414 Workshop and involved in his silkscreen business.
