Wayne Thiebaud


Born in Mesa, AZ. An important painter of pop-art realism with great respect for traditional methods and subject matter.  He slightly predates the classic pop artists.  In 1962, his work was included along with Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol Jim Dine, Ed Ruscha and others in “New Painting of Common Objects,” at the Pasadena Art Museum-One of the first Pop Art Exhibitions in America.
