Lee Krasner

(1908-1984)

Lee Krasner was born, in Brooklyn, NY. In 1934, the WPA hired her to paint murals. From 1937 to 1940, she studied under Hans Hofmann. She married fellow artist Jackson Pollock and devoted herself to his career for many years. After his death, Krasner blossomed into a major Abstract Expressionist in her own right.
