Joseph Mellor Hanson

(1900-1963)

Born in England, trained at the Halifax School of Art and furthered his studies in Paris. His work was exhibited as the “Painting in the U.S. 1949” at the Carnegie Institute. The Carnegie Institute label is on the verso. He was an instructor at Cornell University until his death in 1963. His work is in several collections throughout the United States and England.
