Irene Clark

(1927-1984)

Born in Washington, D.C., Clark became a Chicago artist during the Works Progress Administration (W.P.A.) period of The Great Depression. Later, Clark painted designs for furniture for Marshall Fields Company. She was close to William McBride and the 414 Workshop and was involved in his silkscreen business. She moved to California after she and McBride parted ways.
