Helen Louise Beccard Niles

(1903-1994)

Helen Louise Beccard taught painting at St. Genevieve school in Missouri.  She also worked with Joe Jones, head of the Works Progress Administration (WPA) in Missouri. She was an instructor at the St. Genevieve Art Colony. She also taught painting and drawing in NYC in the 1930s/40s. She then lived and worked in San Francisco remainder of career.

Beccard studied at St. Louis School of Fine Arts and Washington University.  She worked with the Missourri WPA with Joe Jones and was a member of St. Genevieve School of Artists/Artists Colony; the American Artists Congress and St. Louis Artists Guild.  In late 1930s/40s, she lived in NYC and taught painting. Then moved to San Francisco.
