(1923-2004)
Allen Stringfellow was a Chicago artist who worked in mixed-media and collage. He was raised by his deeply religious grandmother, but was also inspired by his father, a jazz musician and his mother a night-club manager. In 1960, he owned a gallery in Chicago’s old town community. His works have been shown at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Dusable Museum and the Chicago Historical Society.
